Are You a Selfish blogger?

It is a crime that I am sure many of us commit. We write a new post and feel the world should want to know our opinion or our newly discovered fact. We may spell check it (or not depending on how sincerely we blog) and then we go about advertising this to our friends and family. But the views that really boost our egos are the ones from anonymous surfers of the web, people who have no obligation to read what we have to say.

I know I try to figure out ways of bumping up my view count, and the fact is none of my friends or family really know about my blog as I feel it is between me, the internet and whoever else is on their computer at quarter past midnight. I take the most pride in my blog when I think that someone is taking a couple of minutes out to hear what I have to say and my experiences, and I think it is only right to pay them back with a read of theirs even if I have no way of knowing who is reading my blog. As blogging is a community experience, without reading there would be no point in writing, even if it is for the 4 views today and the 2 next week. It is all worth it as even the smallest person can have a voice which can be heard.

I really feel discouraged to leave further comments when I see the blog owner I commented on does not come back to my blog. It’s like the more comment they get, the more moody they become thinking they are becoming famous. They don’t take the mess to check out the blogs and comment on those people’s who spend time reading their stuff and commenting.

They are selfish bloggers, I agree with you.

Thank god not all bloggers are like this. Otherwise it would be like a large hotel with lots of rooms but nobody knows or cares whoever is living the next door. šŸ˜

    Nice topic you got here.

I don’t think I’m a selfish blogger because i like blogwalking, read post which I find interesting (like yours) and leave comment. I know that not all people that stumble on my blog read my blog nor those who read bother to say anything…but for me, if it’s something I let them know my opinion on it.

Unlike Sajib, I don’t expect them to visit me back but I won’t lie that I am very happy when they visit me back and left comment too (not a dutyful comment). I just love reading and commenting.

However, I’m really pissed off everytime I see some of my posts get high views just because people are searching for certain pictures….I wish they would have said something, I’ve spent hours to write it and all they do just come and take the picture and leave šŸ˜¦
